RAF big band songs at the Drill Hall
AFTER a series of sell out concerts, RAF Swing Wing will again be performing for two nights at the Lincoln Drill Hall.
The concerts will be on Thursday and Friday February 25 and 26.
These professional musicians based at RAF Cranwell are members of the Band of the RAF College and will play an entertaining selection of Big Band songs, old and new led by Warrant Officer Gary Stevens.
Senior Aircraftman Matthew Walker, a Lincoln resident, will be joined on vocals for the first time at the Drill Hall by his fellow Leeds College of Music graduate Senior Aircraftwoman Tracey Hodgetts.
Organised by the band's former drummer, Andy Thomas, the RAF Swing Wing concerts at the Drill Hall have raised 9,936.75 since the first performance in 2005 as well as providing top quality musical entertainment.
Once again the beneficiaries of the concerts will be the Royal Air Force Association, who do so much to support RAF personnel, and the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit at Grantham Hospital where Andy received treatment after a heart attack.
The concerts start at 7.30pm and tickets, priced 10, are available from the Box Office on 01522 873894 (see also www.lincolndrillhall.com/how_to_book ).
