Rising star pianist makes a return

THE first concert of Sleaford Music Club’s 2012-2013 season begins this month, promising to be a varied and exiting season with artistes new to Sleaford as well as return visits by club favorites.

Alexandra Dariescu returns on Friday October 12. She delighted with a wonderful piano recital, two years ago, and since her last performance here she has featured as BBC Music Magazine’s Rising Star.

The Romanian pianist is an outstanding communicator, hugely popular with audiences.

In 2012 Alexandra made her debut at the Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall where she was one of five young international pianists invited by Andras Schiff to join him in a residency. She has given recitals at major venues and festivals throughout Europe and further afield including Wigmore Hall, Royal Concert Hall Nottingham, Bridgewater Hall, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Mozarteum Buenos Aires, the City of London, Cheltenham (broadcast by BBC Radio 3) and Bath Festivals.

She will be performing music by Beethoven, Scarlatti, Schumann and Chopin. The concert starts at 7.30pm at the Civic Suite, NKDC Offices Eastgate, Sleaford. Entry is £10 (£9Conc). Details: 01529 304389.
