Scarecrow festival time

IT is more than just a scarecrow festival in the village of Dunston this year.

With everything from aeroplanes to cavemen scarecrows in the past, this year’s event will see villagers holding garage sales as well.

So as well as following the scarecrow trail, listening to the Silver Sounds Band, inspecting the local fire engine and enjoying the stalls.

There will be a tombola and raffle, with coffee, tea and lunches in the village hall, as well as a table top sale with a difference.

The Scarecrow Weekend and Garage Sale are on September 22 and 23 in the village of Dunston, with proceeds going to St Peter’s Church.
