HAVERHOLME Priory, near Sleaford, is to host a special winter opening to allow members of the public to enjoy its beautiful snowdrop and aconite-laden woods.

Visitors can also view the riverbank along the River Slea nearby and medieval monk’s graveyard on Sunday February 19 from 2pm - 5pm in aid of Lincolnshire Churches Trust.

This event kick starts the annual programme of open gardens for the trust. Admission is £2.50.

Teas will be served, children and dogs on leads are welcome, parking and toilets are available. Postcode: NG34 9PF.

* There is also to be an open gardens event in Folkingham held in aid of the St John Ambulance charity for Lincolnshire.

It will be held at Willow Holt, on Sleaford Road, Folkingham, open from 11am until 3pm on Sunday February 26.

Admission is £2.50, children free. Refreshments will be available served by St John Ambulance volunteers.
