Study of motives of shipping boss
The Man Who Left The Titanic, to be performed at Sleaford Playhouse.
A new play on events surrounding one of the most infamous shipping disasters of all time is coming to the stage at Sleaford Playhouse.
The Man Who Left The Titanic, presented by Isosceles Theatre Company and the Useful Idiots will be showing on Saturday November 3.
On April 15, 1912, the Titanic slipped below the frigid waters of the Atlantic. Yet J. Bruce Ismay, Managing Director of the White Star Line, stepped into a lifeboat and sailed away from the stricken ship, his passengers, the cries and screams and tears. The man who left the Titanic evokes that terrible voyage and asks whether Bruce Ismay only did what any of us might have done in the same circumstances, or should his actions that night consign his name to infamy? Was he a coward, or merely human?
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets £9 from Soft Options, 3 Market Place, Sleaford (Tel: 01529 410348).
