Stump hosts concert series

BOSTON Stump is hosting a series of lunchtime concerts on Wednesdays throughout the summer.

Each recital will be from 1pm-1.45pm and entry is free, with a retiring collection.

The next concert will take place today (Wednesday) when Marc Murray, organist and Director of Music at St Botolph’s Church (the Stump), plays organ favourites, Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach, Purcell, Stanley and Widor’s ever-popular Toccata.

This will be followed on August 15 with a programme of solos and duets for sopranos by Lyndsey Evans and Emma Roland-Shrubb.

On August 22 Hugh Jones (tenor) and Marc Murray (piano) will perform English songs and German lieder, then, on August 29 David Heft on piano will perform works by Bortkiewicz, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin and Liszt.
