Tiny villlage presents summer night of music
PREPARATIONS are well underway for Burton Pedwardine's Summer Night of Music.
The event, to be held on Saturday July 4, runs from 6.30pm until Midnight and is being held at St Andrew's Church in the village.
All proceeds will go towards urgent repairs to the church roof, which is the only public space in one of the area's smallest villages.
The event, which will be held in the church and surrounding grounds, required a great deal of effort by residents to clear the churchyard. Mary Tilley, Craig Wood, Rachel Carr, Barry Gray and Michael Coy were ably supported by many other local residents who gave up their time over a number of evenings.
The Summer Night of Music will feature music from the Jazz Mill, a hog roast with Lincolnshire sausages and ice cream, a real ale tent, as well as a bouncy castle for the children. In addition to a raffle, everyone will be invited to adopt a slate for the church roof with the chance to adopt the hidden Golden Slate and win a bottle of vintage Champagne.
Further details and tickets are available from Mary Tilley (Tel: 01529 461113) or Amanda Gray (01529 461450).
