Under fives can make music for free at sessions

Sleaford Children’s Centre is hosting free music-making sessions every week just for local under-5s and their families.

Early Roots workshops take place in the centre in Money’s Yard on Friday mornings, from 11am to 12noon.

Booking is not essential, though recommended. Just go along and expect to have fun, even if you have not done much in the way of music-making before, says John Barry, the specialist music facilitator who leads the sessions in Sleaford. John comes equipped with bags full of musical instruments for the children to explore and the workshops include familiar nursery rhymes as well as movement games and new songs created by the group.

Early Roots is funded by national charity Youth Music. Call soundLINCS on 01522 510073, e-mail: info@soundlincs.org
