THE second annual Caythorpe Music Festival proved to be another successful event.

Last year it coincided with the Royal wedding and this time it was the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend.

Organiser Ashley Fraser-Darling said there was a really good turn out to see the 12 bands in the rock tent and folk and blues tent, plus a real ale tent, spread around Caythorpe playing field. The festival was rounded off by The Hot Tomales and raised just under £2,000 towards eplaying field quipment and maintaining the grounds.

It formed part of five days of Jubilee celebrations including quizzes, children’s disco, beacon lighting and a street party where some villagers recreated a commemorative arch of scaffolding across the road to replicate an arch built for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria seen in photographs hung in the local pubs.
