Vintage machines go on display in Walcott

THE annual Vintage Working Day at Walcott attracted an excellent turn-out, with people coming from far and wide to view the display of vintage vehicles and machinery.
As well as variety of classic cars and motorbikes, some of which dated back to the Second World War, there were demonstrations with vintage corn binding machines, ploughs and cultivators.
The event also featured craft stalls, a car boot sale and a raffle with 49 prizes donated by supporters. And there was plenty of food and refreshments for visitors, including hot dogs, fish and chips and burgers.
Proceeds from the vintage working day will be divided between St Oswald’s Church in Walcott and the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance. Overall £1,500 was raised for the two causes.
Dennis Sleaford, one of the show’s organisers, said: “The day was a great success once again, I’m sure that everyone who came enjoyed it and a big thank you to all who supported the event. The money raised will be a big help to the church and the air ambulance.
“A special thank you must go to Dave and Jean Woollerton and family for allowing the event to take place on their land.”
