SLEAFORD IN Bloom volunteers generated over £500 from a weekend event towards maintaining the floral displays around the town.

The summer garden party was staged on Sunday afternoon at the home of committee chairman Ada Trethewey in her East Midlands In Bloom award-winning garden.

This year the theme for the town’s planting, as in many houses, is red, white and blue fore the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

Judging for The East Midlands in Bloom competition is on the afternoon of July 4 and more details of the route will follow soon.
