There was a good turn-out of gamers for a Pokemon Go ‘Lure’ party organised in Sleaford on Friday evening
Ben Holden organised the Epic Lure Meet via a local Facebook group, with an estimated 120 people coming and going to Eastgate Green between 5pm and 8pm.
Players of all ages said they had a great time chatting, hunting for new monsters and having battles among themselves via their mobile phones.
Pokemon fan Melody Shanahan-Kluth of Sleaford said it is already huge in Sleaford with a 350-plus person Facebook group called Sleaford Pokemon Go.
People gathered outside the National Centre for Craft and Design in a meet up for all serious or casual players who want to hunt rare Pokemon, as the more people that turn up the rarer the Pokemon that appear.
Mrs Shanahan-Kluth explained there were five ‘Pokestops‘ set up in a line at Navigation Wharf, The Hub, The Sails Sculpture, the Mosaic and the swimming pool, with ‘Lures’ on them to attract more people and supposedly attract rare Pokemon.
Gamers could discuss tactics with fellow players, or form new friends to go on ‘catching’ walks or have a battle tournament.
