FIREFIGHTERS in Billinghay have been washing cars as part of a major charity event.
Members of the village crew opened up the forecourt of the Billinghay fire station for five hours so that members of the public could take along their cars to be washed for a donation to The Firefighters Charity.

They were one of several fire crews across the county taking part in the charity's National Car Wash 2008.

The final amount raised from the event is not yet known.

The Firefighters Charity assists serving and retired firefighters and their families through sheltered accommodation, financial support, rehabilitation and therapy.
