NORTH Kesteven District Council is looking for a new chauffeur service to drive its chairman around.
The authority is seeking tenders from people capable of providing a chauffeur limousine service for the chairman.

The contract, which is expected to run for up to three years from May 1 2009, primarily involves transporting the council's chairman
and/or where required, the vice-chairman to and from various functions and activities around North Kesteven and other locations in Lincolnshire and, on occasions, in the East Midlands area.

According to the specifications of the job, the contractor would have to provide and maintain suitable vehicles for a first class service consisting of a four-seater luxury motor car and a vehicle capable of seating up to seven people. Drivers would have to be smart, clean and wear a smart dark suit on duty.

They would have to be available any day of the week during reasonable hours, although they would usually get seven days warning. The chauffeur would assist in carrying the chain of office and other civic regalia or official document and assist with fitting the chain of office when needed.

Applicants can find out details by writing to the council or emailing cliff_robinson@n-kesteven.gov.uk or jean_young@n-kesteven.gov.uk

Quotations should be sent in a plain envelope marked Chief Executive, North Kesteven District Council, Council Offices, Kesteven Street, Sleaford and headed 'tender for the supply of a chauffeur service'.

The closing date for quotations is December 12, 2008.
