TWO local charities shared money raised during the year of office of North Kesteven District Council's outgoing chairman, Coun Ron Oxby.
Mr Oxby collected £2,724, which was raised at a number of events held throughout the year.

The money was divided equally between his two chosen charities, GIFTS Day Hospice, Sleaford and St Barnabas’ Hospice, Lincoln.

Representatives from both charities came to the annual council meeting on Thursday where they were each presented with a cheque for £1,362.

Kate Baxter received the money on behalf of GIFTS and Chris Fox for St Barnabas.

Mr Oxby said: "I am delighted to have raised this amount of money and it is great to know that it will be used for two very worthwhile causes.

"I would like to thank everyone who not only attended the charity events throughout my time as chairman but also donated money. The money is now going to be put to good use and it is only through the contributions from residents that will enable this to happen."
