Friday 9.20am - A MAN has been arrested after a police search with helicopter and a dog team when he fled the scene of an accident which seriously injured a Sleaford woman.
The driver of a blue Mitsubishi Galant left the scene of the serious collision on the A52 at Sedgebrook between Muston and Grantham.

The smash happened at about 2.15am on Friday morning when his car was in collision with a green Ford Mondeo. A 41-year-old woman passenger in the Mondeo from Sleaford, was trapped in the vehicle for well over an hour before being taken to Lincoln County Hospital with pelvic, leg and head injuries.

While seriously injured her injuries were not thought to be life threatening. Two men in the Mondeo sustained minor injuries.

The Mitsubishi driver left the scene and was arrested nearby about one and a half hours later after a search involving police officers, a police dog and the Nottinghamshire Police helicopter.

He was also treated in hospital for minor injuries and was to be interviewed later.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have seen either of the two vehicles on the road prior to the crash is asked to contact 01522 558855.
