LAST Wednesday, a number of schools in Lincolnshire took part in a national initiative to promote the importance of exercise.
The All Children Exercise Simultaneously (ACES) initiative was re-named LACES by the Lincolnshire County Council's school travel plan team to mark Lincolnshire's efforts in encouraging all children in schools to participate in some form of physical activity.
Coun Patricia Bradwell, executive councillor responsible for children's services, said:
"Our school travel plans encourage families to make exercise part of their daily routine, such as the journey to and from school, and this initiative is a way of showing how much fun exercise can be. It also links with the Healthy Schools' Award."
More 50 countries took part in ACES around the world.
