Friday, 3.55pm. A PLAY area in Sleaford has just undergone a £65,000 makeover.
The site on Lincoln Road had already been fitted with a multi-use kick wall and contractors have now finished installing a variety of play equipment to entertain children of all ages.

As well as the usual swings, slides and rockers, children can even catch some waves on a surf board swing.

There is also a path linking the two entrances of the play area at Barnes Close and St Anne's Close.

Sleaford Town Council's services manager, John Coster, said it was part of the council's ongoing refurbishment programme of the town's play areas.

He said: "Next we are looking to provide equipment for older children on Boston Road recreation ground for ages six to 19.

"We would like feedback and comments on what people would like to see there. We are looking at moving objects such as roundabouts and slides and even zip wires, climbing walls and swinging tyres. The more feedback we get the more chance we have of getting it right."

Mr Coster suggests people might like to look at some of the leading play equipment manufacturers' websites for inspiration of what could be installed for a total cost of around £60,000. This would hopefully be followed by a multi-use sports area the following year.

Any comments should passed on to the town council offices at 3 Mill House, Carre Street, Sleaford, telephone 01529 303456 or email enquiries@sleaford.gov.uk
