AROUND 840 customers in the Sleaford and Evedon area were without power this afternoon when someone digging up the road severed a cable.
Central Networks spokesman Andrew Barrow said a circuit breaker in a sub station was tripped just after 1pm today (Tuesday) after the problem with a 11,000 volt high voltage cable.

Within 40 minutes engineers on the scene had rerouted power from elsewhere to get 210 properties back on power and were working to fix the problem.
