A village store manager has been recognised for 25 years’ service to Lincolnshire Co-op.

Andrew Atkin, from Ruskington Food Store, was among 15 members of Lincolnshire Co-op staff who attended a long service dinner.

Staff marking 25 years were presented with a commemorative gold watch, while those reaching 40 years were given £500 in Lincolnshire Co-op travel vouchers.

“The business is run so efficiently these days. Back when I started, I had to operate a till sat on a stock trolley – it’s not the image we’d want to portray now,” he said.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with a lot of lovely people over the years, and had a lot of happy times working for the society.”
