Bridge replacement work starts

FOUR bridges are being renewed in the Helpringham area as part of a package of investment by Network Rail.

The bridges are being upgraded to boost freight and passenger train capacity on the Doncaster to Peterborough Joint Line through Lincolnshire.

Work includes replacing the central section of each bridge and installing higher parapets and crash barriers to improve safety.

Road closures and diversions will last approximately three weeks and work will be completed by Christmas. The bridge works are - Helpringham Road from September 28, Mount Lane from October 5, Scredington Road from November 16, Fen Road from November 30.
