Free advice on how to land council contracts

BUSINESSES in Lincolnshire are to be given the chance to learn more about how to win contracts with local authorities.

On Tuesday, June 26, Procurement Lincolnshire is hosting a Meet the Buyer event at the University of Lincoln’s Riseholme Campus.

The free half-day event will put county firms a step ahead in the race to win local authority contracts, giving them the opportunity to meet the people who buy goods and services for our local councils.

Coun Kelly Smith, executive member for Finance and HR at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “This is a chance for Lincolnshire firms to find out exactly what local authorities are looking for, straight from the horse’s mouth.

“Highlights include a free guide to doing business with the public sector, question time with local experts and mini-workshops, including information from commissioning teams in adult and children services.

“There’s a perception that dealing with the public sector inevitably means endless red-tape. This event will help dispel that myth by showing just how easy it is to bid for some of our contracts.

“And with the public sector in Lincolnshire spending around £750m a year, this is an opportunity your business can’t afford to miss.”

People can attend either the morning session, which runs from 9am to 12.30pm, or the afternoon session, which runs from 1.30pm to 5pm.

Places at the event are limited. To book a place or for further information, contact Charlotte Robson on 01522 523333 or email charlotte.robson@lincs-chamber.co.uk
