Life is magic! So says Sleaford magician Scott Perry who is aiming to inspire the next generation of budding entrepreneurs.
The 25-year-old has turned his life around with support from youth charity The Prince’s Trust and has performed for big-name stars including Kevin Spacey.
He is now set to share his story at a free Princes Trust event for young people who want to start their own business.
Scott said: “I was unemployed for a couple of years and struggled to find work. I was living in a rural area and there were few jobs available. I needed a car to get out and find work, but needed a job so I could afford a car. I found it really difficult not being able to support myself while my friends were enjoying success and I felt I couldn’t keep up.”
Scott was referred to The Prince’s Trust, where he took part in a four-day course to learn the basics of business. He then received a low-interest loan and a business mentor to help him start-up his own business as a magician.
He said: “I’ve performed in front of people that I’d never have dreamed of, including the British Olympic swimming team and celebrities such as Kevin Spacey and Scott Mills. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the help of The Prince’s Trust.”
Scott will share his story at the Bedroom2Boardroom event for people aged 18-30 at Nottingham Conference Centre on March 6.
“I’m really excited to share my story with the next generation at Bedroom2Boardroom – and hopefully inspire more young people to become their own boss,” he said.
Lincolnshire businesses are also invited to hear how they can help change young lives.
