Pop up vintage shop to open its doors

Sleaford's new Pop Up shop will be opening its doors housing its first fledgling business this week.

Vintage59 will be the first Pop Up NK shop to open in Sleaford on Thursday, September 1 – giving owner Wendy Nuccoll her Heckington home back.

The business offers homewares with a sprinkling of retro, specialising in vintage, shabby chic and make do and mend.

Currently trading online and at events, the pop up shop initiative was seen as the ideal way to see if moving into a store would work for them and, at the same time, relieve Wendy’s home of the pressure of housing all her stock.

Wendy said: “I’ve been trading online and at events for a number of years now and people have been asking where my store is as they want to come and see the items I sell and have a browse.

“It’s a big undertaking to have a shop but as soon as I saw the pop up shop project being advertised I decided to apply and find out more.

“This is perfect for me as it means I can try out whether my business works as a store but without the pressure of a long-term commitment.

“I can’t wait to open and welcome customers in!”

Partnership NK approved funding for the Pop Up NK project to allow businesses to test the market place, whether they are new or already established.

The shop is ideally located in the centre of Sleaford at Unit 6, Navigation Yard, right next to the National Centre for Craft and Design, off Carre Street.

Herman Kok, chairman of Partnership NK, said: “Pop up shops are an innovative way to test a new concept in the market place – it is great news that NKDC has made this facility available in Sleaford and we look forward to a successful outcome for a number of new businesses.”

Vintage59 will be trading at the pop up shop for 12 weeks from September 1.
