Spooky goings on in the woods for Halloween

Join North Kesteven’s Countryside Rangers for two creepy countryside events this month.

On Tuesday October 30 you can take part in a special bug hunt around High Wood in North Rauceby.

See what weird and wonderful insects you can find hiding in the wood and learn about their lifestyles.

For more weird goings on in the woods, why not join the rangers for a spooky evening walk in Hill Holt Wood, near to Norton Disney on Wednesday October 31. This walk is most definitely not for the faint hearted as the rangers will be at their scariest best while enjoying the district’s woodlands.

It may not be suitable for children under eight years of age and attendance will be at the discretion of parents.

Both events are free of charge and booking is essential. Children aged under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Clothing suitable for outdoor weather is recommended and bring your torch.

For start times for the events or for more information call 01522 688868 or email: whisby@leisureconnection.co.uk

* Sleaford Community Cinema is holding its annual meeting at The Source on Tuesday November 13 at 7pm.

A number of vacant positions will need to be filled. Anyone interested in putting their name forward should reply by November 6 to secretary@sleafordcinema.co.uk

Acting chairman Asha Kaur said: “Our current aim is to put together four seasons of film per year, we have just successfully completed the summer season with films such as Hunger Games, Lost Boys and for younger children Walt Disney’s Wall-E. Next we hope to participate in the Christmas Market with an event for younger children and their parents to enjoy together.”
