Chippy is ‘frying high’ with new award

A VILLAGE chippy is celebrating after becoming one of the country’s top chip shops.

Welbourne’s Fish and Chips of Ruskington has been awarded the prestigious National Federation of Fish Friers’ Fish and Chip Quality Award.

The business, owned by local businessman Adrian Tweedale, underwent a vigorous inspection by an NFFF assessor to be awarded the accolade.

Welbourne’s was assessed on the shop’s presentation, hygiene and cleanliness, staff training, equipment, frying and sales skills and quality of their food.

Each Fish and Chip Quality Award is valid for two years and the standards must be met, as determined by NFFF officials and appointed assessors, to keep the award.
