Drop-in safety information event for landlords

A free drop-in event for the district's landlords and letting agents, to find out more information about minimum property standards and changes in legislation, is taking place in Sleaford.

North Kesteven District Council’s Safe as Houses Team will be holding the session on Monday, December 12 in the Council Chamber, Kesteven Street, Sleaford.

NKDC’s Housing Enforcement and Sustainability Officers will be on hand to offer advice as well as providing information on heating and insulation initiatives offered by fuel providers.

In addition, there will be representatives to speak to from the National Landlords Association (NLA), DASH and NKDC’s Benefits Team.

Coun Stewart Ogden, Executive Board member for housing, said: “Our Safe as Houses initiative aims to protect tenants to ensure that every home is safe and healthy and support landlords to provide advice on the standards needed to be met to provide quality housing, which is warm, secure and free from safety risks.

“The drop-in events are free to attend and will provide plenty of useful information and I strongly encourage landlords to pay a visit.”

The event will run from 1-4pm with a welcome and information presentations given at 1pm and repeated at 2.30pm. The presentations will last approximately 20 minutes altogether and the representatives will be available to discuss any questions you may have.
