Jobcentre Plus is moving from its current offices on Southgate into spare office space at North Kesteven District Council, meaning more services will be available under one roof, according to council leaders.
The move will take place next week, locating Jobcentre Plus on the ground floor next to the reception at offices on Kesteven Street, Sleaford.
Council leader Coun Marion Brighton said: “This move marks a significant phase in reviewing accommodation at the council offices. We welcome Jobcentre Plus, and hope they will be happy in their new offices.”
Those who use the services of Jobcentre Plus, will also have better access to council services should requirements mean the two go hand-in-hand.
Chris Southall, Jobcentre leader, said: “We will continue to offer the full range of services currently available at Sleaford Jobcentre and effectively enhance our service delivery, reducing the cost to the taxpayer and providing more of a ’one stop shop’ for services.”
The move comes after an accommodation review at NKDC to make better use of spare office space freed up by cost-cutting measures which could make a saving or income or around £30,000 - reported by The Standard in March.
A similar review of premises was being carried out by the Department of Work and Pensions.
