Meeting on future of Lincolnshire sausage

A meeting is to be held in Sleaford tonight to discuss the future of the Lincolnshire sausage.

The Lincolnshire Sausage Association last year lost an appeal to DEFRA to support a bid to have the sausage name given geographical protected status as in the case of food such as Stilton and Champagne.

Now members are considering whether there is any future in pursuing the bid having already raised the national profile of the Lincolnshire sausage.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at Curtis of Lincoln’s Sleaford store in Southgate at 7pm today (Thursday, January 10).
