MP takes a spin on the skid pan
Stephen Phillips learns about the Road Safety Partnership.
Sleaford and North Hykeham MP Stephen Phillips paid a visit to Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership’s facilities at North Kyme to see the work that it does in helping drivers across the county.
He heard how it assists young drivers in particular to understand the dangers of inappropriate behaviour while driving, like texting on mobile phones, before himself trying out the Academy’s simulator and learning to steer out of a skid in a specially designed vehicle.
He said the work the partnership does is vital. “The success of the scheme is shown by the sheer number of other rural counties beating a path to LRSP’s door to learn what the Police and County Council are doing with other agencies to encourage safer driving. It’s important work that I believe should be rolled out nationwide.”
