THERE is a fresh face joining the team in the kitchen of a popular Ruskington pub.

The Red Lion at Ruskington welcomes new chef, Fintan Arrowsmith, who is bringing over 10 years of experience to the well-established village pub.

Originally from Dundalk in Ireland, Fintan worked as a chef in Tony’s Wine Bar in London for seven years, before taking a break from the industry.

He returned to cooking after he moved to Lincolnshire working as a chef at a restaurant in Tattershall Thorpe.

Talking about his new role he says: “There is a really nice atmosphere in the place and there’s a strong team in the kitchen with a lot of knowledge.”

The Red Lion uses local ingredients wherever possible in all their dishes and has recently introduced new specials for their customers, including combo platters and a whole vegetarian menu, and each month they will be including a weekly specials menu.

From 11.30am onwards from Monday to Saturday, diners eating at lunchtime can enjoy two courses for £6 with the choice of four starters, eight mains and four sweets. On Saturday nights guests can order a meal from the grill of classic pub range and get their second meal half price.

Then on Sunday diners can enjoy a roast dinner with all the trimmings and the choice of three meats and get their pudding, worth £3.95, for free.

The new Sunday opening hours are from 11.30am to 7.30pm.
