Preparations are almost complete for the St George’s Day Market which is being held on Saturday.

The market will be held on Sleaford Market Place, where the regular traders will be joined by a wide variety of stalls, including jewellery, glassware, crafts and fund raising stalls, together with a static display of motorbike trikes.

The market will be officially opened at 9am by the Mayor of Sleaford, the Town Crier and Rev Philip Johnson. This will be followed by the presentation of prizes to the winners and runners up of the primary schools colouring competition.

A St George’s themed fancy dress competition is also being held for all children. Entrants are to meet at the Sleaford Town Council’s gazebo at 9am, for the judging to take place. Prizes will be awarded to the best two costumes.

An exciting entertainment programme has been set for the day, including live music, dancing from the Kesteven Morris Dancers and a performance by pupils from the William Alvey School.
