Parking will be free in all of North Kesteven District Council’s Sleaford car parks on December 6 as part of a package of support to give local retailers a boost.
As part of the national initiative Small Business Saturday UK, the district council is waiving all charges for its parking facilities in Sleaford that day.
With this being the same time as the Lincoln Christmas Market, the hope is that shoppers will turn to Sleaford for their festive shopping and return often.
In the preceding week drop-in sessions will be held to help small businesses access essential information for establishing or expanding, whether based at home or in commercial premises. These will cover understanding planning procedure, awareness of business rates and any rate relief that may be available, licensing matters, environmental health and general business support advice. They will be on Thursday, December 4, at: Wright Vigar, Northgate, Sleaford from 9am to 11.30am.
On Wednesday, December 3, councillors’ monthly visits will focus on small businesses in the Sleaford area.
The team at TaxAssist Accountants in Sleaford Market Place will be giving its support by running a free business advice clinic between 1-5pm offering the chance to drop in and get some practical, useful, jargon-free advice to help guide small businesses through any problems they may face.
