Six outstanding building projects in the area have been commended by North Kesteven District Council’s building control unit.

After being presented with accolades at NKDC’s own Building Control Awards recently, all six winning projects will now compete in the regional Local Authority Building Control awards.

Twelve awards were given among the six projects, to both the architect and builder, with the Best Social Housing Scheme being presented to L5 Design and Lindum Homes for the new homes built at High Dyke, Navenby, built for Longhurst and Havelock Homes.

The scheme was described as “operating a well-managed and organised site throughout, going above and beyond compliance standards as Considerate Constructors”.

The winner of the Best Small Housing Development award went to DB Lawrence and Associates and Builder Roger Leighton Homes for their work on the four executive homes built on land behind The Royal Oak, Scopwick. These new builds were described as being “built and finished to high standards, based on finely detailed drawing which made everyone’s job easier.”

The awards were presented to the winners on the night by executive board member Coun Richard Wright. He said: “Although times have been hard, the standards employed in some of the building work that has gone on in that time has been fantastic and that is much appreciated by everyone in the district.”
