VIDEO - Consultation on 1,400 homes held

Residents have viewed plans and expressed their concerns over Sleaford Property Developments Ltd’s proposals to create a new housing estate twice the size of Greylees.

A consultation event was held on Thursday at the New Life Conference Centre on Mareham Lane where the developers showcased their plans and invited residents to come and ask questions and give their thoughts on the development, next to Southfields, off London Road, Sleaford. It attracted hundreds of people throughout the afternoon.

As well as 1,400 residential dwellings, the plans also include a community centre, a residential care home, primary school, sports fields, allotments and retail space.

Many residents expressed their concerns about the sheer volume of traffic in the estate, especially at peak times, and some have also objected to the four planned football pitches that they fear may attract bad language and groups of youths hanging around.

The video shows architect Clive Self explaining the lay-out of the new proposed development.
