More details have been released about the official opening of a Screwfix store in Sleaford, with a screw-drilling competition being among the special activities planned.
The retailer has its official opening in the town on Thursday, February 19, at Sleaford Business Park, in East Road.
As part of a launch celebration period, which runs until Sunday, February 22, a free screw-drilling competition will be held in which visitors will be challenged to drill five screws into a plank of wood. The fastest time wins a 40in Toshiba smart TV.
During the launch period, all product ranges will carry a 10 per cent discount among other store specific special offers.
Leading power tool manufacturer DeWalt will also be demonstrating a range of products from the Screwfix catalogue.
Speaking of the jobs boon associated with the store, manager Steve Knaggs: “We’ve created 11 brand new vacancies and have employed local people from around the Sleaford area. Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service. Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening.”
The shop will be open Monday to Friday 7am-8pm, Saturday 8am-6pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.
