Guests are invited to ‘go ape’ at a Hire A Hero charity night to be held in Metheringham on Saturday February 14 in the village hall.

Hire A Hero is a charity set up to help former military personnel adjust to civilian life after sustaining physical or mental injuries during combat, including help finding work and housing.

The 7pm until late adults-only event has been organised by a group of ex-forces personnel and civilians called The Gorillas who promote and fundraise for the charity. They field a rugby team who play invitational games as well as doing off-field actvities such as golf and endurance challenges.

Pc Andy Peacock of Police Interceptors will draw the raffle. Music will be by local band Stark, with supporting disco. There will be stalls, a photo booth and licensed bar.

Tickets including supper are £10, available from Emily’s Beauty and Tanning or the Star and Garter in Metheringham or by calling 07747339880.
