The Sleaford and District Lioness Club has recently been ‘getting crafty’ to help raise funds for the support of UK service personel, veterans and their families.

The club has been knitting poppies for residents at Ashfield Lodge Care Home, in Ashfield Road, Sleaford.

The poppies are used by the home as an alternative to the paper poppies which are sold as part of the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal.

In return, the care home makes a donation to the appeal.

Residents are pictured, alongside lioness club members, sporting their new woollen poppies.
