IT’S now even easier for you to join your favourite Bookstart buddy, thanks to a new Facebook page.

The Bookstart Lincolnshire team visited The Source on Southgate, Sleaford on Wednesday to launch its new Facebook page and mascot Bookstart Bear put in an appearance to meet children and their families, who were even able to have their photo taken with him.

The new Facebook page includes news of upcoming events and storytimes in libraries, with help and advice on sharing stories with children, activity ideas and updates from National Booktrust, which encourages children and families to read together.

Coun Patricia Bradwell, Executive Member for Children’s Services, said: “Bookstart helps give every child a flying start in life.

“Not only is sharing books a great way to bond with your child, it’s also beneficial for their emotional wellbeing and future learning.”
