Talented doggies, cracking eggs and scrummy cupcakes all helped to make a fundraising village event a huge success for its organisers.
The TimTin playgroup in Martin held a Cupcake Bake-Off and village event at the playing field last Sunday, with plenty of fun activities going on during the day to help boost their funds.
One of the top attractions of the day was the popular Egg Roulette game, where participants try to find a raw egg in a box of hard-boiled ones by cracking it off their heads, or that of a willing victim.
A fun dog show was one other popular event with lots of four-legged entrants. The Best Dog in Show winner was Francesca Holmes with Ted the Norfolk terrier, and the Cupcake Bake-Off was won by Vicky Johnson with the under 16 winner announced as Bethan Hingley.
There were also raffles, a tombola, a barbecue, a big cake stall, an ice cream van and much more, and overall the event raised £470 for the playgroup, which will go towards buying new toys and play equipment for the children in the playgroup and the kids club.
Sarah Coupland, spokesman for the TimTin playgroup, said: “The event went really well and it was a huge success – we had a great time. We’d like to thank Kelly Brighty who organised it.”
