FOOTBALL managers have bared all in print in the name of charity.

Sleaford Town Junior Football Club’s managers will be starring in their very own ‘Calendar Girls’ style calendar, whereby the men are pictured wearing nothing but a few strategically placed props, with all proceeds going to the junior’s funds and to Orchid, which raises funds and awareness of male cancers.

The images were shot at the club on Tuesday night (September 25), with Junior FC chairman Jason Butler is starring as Mr January, Simon Ingamells as Mr February, Mr March is Martyn Pickworth and Gavin Gordon is Mr April.

Pete Garrick is pictured as Mr May, Mr June is Graham Park, Mr July was Kev Waddingham with Sleaford Town Reserves Captain Clive Crawford as Mr August, Mr October is Paul Ellis and Mr November is Tony Rushen, with September and December featuring a team shot.

Kev Waddingham, U13’s manager commented: “Stood in the middle of the football pitch with no clothes on is not my normal night out, but it’s for charity and when you see what is going on around the world it’s not that bad. Let’s hope we can sell lots of the calendars and raise lots of money.”

Mr June Graham Park added: “On arriving at the club, I must confess to being rather nervous at the prospect of stripping down to my socks and boots, however the lads and lasses present soon changed the mood into a laughter filled occasion.”

The idea was suggested by fundraising committee members Rachael Scott and Amanda Wright who decided to launch the calendar as it would generate plenty of interest to raise as much money as possible for these two worthy causes.

The photographs were taken by Town photographer Lee Blake with DPS Digital providing the artwork for free, and the calendar has been well supported by several Sleaford businesses.

The finished product is now on sale at £4.99 each, and the committee would like to hear from any Sleaford businesses who would be interested in selling the calendars from their premises.

Any interested parties should contact Rachael on 07887 778639 or email sellarsrache@aol.com
