METHERINGHAM LIBRARY - Story Lab will be taking place in the library as part of the Summer Reading Challenge 2012.

There will be craft making as well as stories. All children under seven must be accompanied by an adult.

The cost is 60p per child and the actvities will be held on Tuesday July 31 from 11am until 12noon.

VILLAGE WEBSITE - The village M.A.C.L.A website, which Jeff Bird has maintained for a number of years, has now closed down. Sincere thanks have been given to Jeff for his efforts.

The parish council will now be running a new site which the parish clerk will update.

To visit the web site, go to http://parishes.lincolnshire.gov.uk/Metheringham/

FLOODING - After the recent severe weather, several houses in the village were flooded out, one on Drury Street which was under water and a home in Lincoln Road was pumped out by the fire brigade.

There was sustained water damage to carpets and other personal effects. There is a reminder on the village notice board, advising people to ask advice from the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS) volunteers to learn of how to cope in a flood.

People are now aware that it is not only people who are living near rivers and streams who are, or who can be, affected by the adverse weather.

Flood advice can be obtained by calling parish clerk Sharon Wetherall on 0800 6343307 or clerk@metheringham.org.uk. or the WRVS volunteer co-ordinator Christine Moy on 07714 898600.

METHERINGHAM NEWS - If any readers have any news they would like to be printed in the Metheringham newsletter, they must submit them before tomorrow (Thursday’s) deadline.

Contact maggiekristen@hotmail.co.uk or call 01526 322169.
