If you’ve ever wanted to see the Victorians celebrate Christmas in authentic festive style, then your chance has arrived.
Victorian characters will be showcasing all that is wonderful about Christmas at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, on Saturday and Sunday December 8 and 9 between 10-4pm.
Visitors will meet the cook, who will be handing out hot mince pies in the kitchen while she gets the pudding and punch ready, and down in Commercial Row, the shopkeepers are getting into the Christmas spirit with traditional favourite sweets and gifts.
Santa Claus will also make an appearance in his sleigh, and children can try some Christmas crafts while adults browse the Victorian cake stall and relax with a warm drink.
Theresa Workman, Collections Access Officer at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, says “This is a unique opportunity to see how the Victorians celebrated Christmas. It’s a great event for all the family to enjoy, and as always entry is free.”
