Lincolnshire Police have received reports of a man knocking on doors trying to sell artwork for £10 in Billinghay yesterday (Monday).

A neighbourhood policing team spokesman said: “This male is claiming to be deaf and using the name of Lucas. He is described as 5ft 5in, stocky build, dark hair, wearing a hat, dark jeans and a black jacket.

“If you have any information or see this male knocking on doors trying to sell items, please call 101 and quote incident number 430 05/12/15.”

There had been similar reports of a man knocking on doors in Ruskington and Martin on Sunday.

Two women were also seen in Sleaford yesterday asking people to sign a petition and asking for donations to open a centre for deaf children in Sleaford.

It appears they were not representing a genuine charity and any further information regarding these should passed to police by calling 101.
