Public information events on the proposed Local Plan for Central Lincolnshire are being held before it is examined by the Planning Inspectorate.
The Central Lincolnshire Joint Strategic Planning Committee approved the document and supporting policies that cover the authority areas of City of Lincoln, North Kesteven and West Lindsey with support from Lincolnshire County Council at its meeting last month.
The plan sets out a target of 36,960 new homes for the area over the next 20-25 years, of which 10,000 have either already been given permission or been built.
Limited growth is identified in villages while measures are in place to ensure homes include affordable and accessible properties. Infrastructure is also factored in, along with green spaces and heritage assets. A predicted 11,894 jobs would be created.
The public can make ‘representations’ during this final period, from April 15 to May 26, about whether they consider the plan to be ‘sound’. Any representations will be sent to the Planning Inspector for consideration. Public events are being held on: April 13, 3.30-6.30pm – Winchelsea Centre, Ruskington; April 18, 3.30-6.30pm – Heckington Pavilion; April 19, 3.30-6.30pm – The Source, Sleaford; April 20, 3.30-6.30pm – Metheringham Methodist Church; May 3, 3.30-6.30pm – Navenby Methodist Hall.
