Create home from home in the woods

COUNTRYSIDE NK are organising some last minute fun before the summer holidays are over and it’s back to school.

On Thursday, August 30, North Kesteven’s Countryside Rangers will be heading off to Skellingthorpe Old Wood to demonstrate how to build a warm and water-tight shelter from nature’s own resources.

A COuntrysideNK spokesman said: “We’ve held this event for the last three years and it’s a firm favourite. The whole family gets involved. From grandparents to grandchildren, everyone does their bit to create a home from home.

“As it’s so popular, we do ask everyone to book for this event and we recommend long sleeves and trousers to prevent scratches from the undergrowth.”

Skellingthorpe Old Wood is owned by the Woodland Trust and has one of the district’s Stepping Out walks in it. For further information and to book your place, all the Natural World Centre on 01522 688868 or email Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
