Arrests made after night time mugging

A MAN was badly beaten and mugged in an incident late on Thursday night.

The attack happened at Haverholme Park around 11.30pm. A 27-year-old local man was walking alongside the river near Haverholme Lock car park when he was set upon by three men wearing balaclavas/hats and carrying baseball bats.

He was subjected to a severe assault and sustained serious injuries. The attackers then stole personal items from him.

The police have made a number of arrests, with those arrested bailed pending further inquiries.

The victim was treated at the scene by ambulance crew before being taken to Lincoln County Hospital.

Anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area at the time or who knows anything about the assault is asked to contact police on 101.
