Burglar sneaks in to take jewellery

Sleaford police are appealing for information following a burglary at a house on Ickworth Road in Sleaford while the householder was still at home.

This occurred between 3.30pm and 7pm yesterday (Thursday November 27).

The intruder got in via an insecure rear door and ahs stolen a wooden jewellery box with a quantity of jewellery inside. This all took place while the occupier was in the house, says a police report.

If anyone has any information or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the Ickworth Road area yesterday afternoon, contact Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 374 of 27/11/2014. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

In light of this incident and also with the run up to the festive season, police urge householders to ensure all doors and windows in their homes are secure at all times, even when you are in the property. It is very easy for a potential burglar to sneak in and out of your house unseen.
