Council tenant warned

A COUNCIL flat tenant from Ruskington has been warned he will be evicted if he gets into any more trouble following a drugs raid on his flat by police earlier in the year.

The suspended possession order, requested by landlord North Kesteven District Council, is current for 18 months and followed the tenant’s prosecution for drugs offences.

If the tenant has any controlled substances in the flat, or causes any alarm, nuisance or distress in the locality during this period, he will face eviction.

The order was given by Lincoln County Court.

Coun Stewart Ogden, the council’s executive board member responsible for housing management, said: “North Kesteven’s communities have been recognised nationally for their high quality of life and relatively low incidence of crime.

“Being a signatory to the RESPECT standard of Housing Management is a key part in maintaining this.

“On the rare occasions where it is necessary, we will not hesitate to take prompt, proactive action and so maintain our high quality of life for the whole community.”
