‘Firemen’ alert

RESIDENTS are being warned to be on their guard following reports of two incidents where bogus callers in uniform claimed they were from the fire service and had to come to check smoke alarms.

The callers have been wearing old-style blue fire uniforms.

Official Fire and Rescue employees will only call following a pre-arranged appointment and will always carry ID. Always check ID is valid and, if in any doubt, do not let them in.

Contact Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue on 01522 582222 for home fire safety advice. Call Lincolnshire Police on 101 to report any suspicious activity in your area.
